Another New Start

Garden Welcome should be a quick stitch.  I stitched 3 full letters in less than an hour.  I will finish this as a framed picture or a hanging banner for the front entrance of my home.   You can find this chart in the Cross Stitch & Needlework May 2014 issue.

Shamrock Ornament update #3

I stitched a lot over the weekend.  I have one more shamrock and some design in between each shamrock.  Mine is a combination of green DMC colours. Here is my progress photo.
This is what it is supposed to look like when it is done.

April stitching update

I have been working on a few projects this past week.  I finished restitching (back stitching) the words on the Snowman Wisdom.   If you don't remember I used long stitches instead of back stitching.

Then I continued working on my shamrock ornament.  I  know shamrocks don't have anything to do with Christmas, but because my Nana was Irish, it is to remind me of her.  I will have to find something to do with elephants for my Grandma (she liked elephants with their trunk up for good luck).  Here is my progress on the shamrocks so far.  There will be a shamrock in each corner.

Happy Dance

Sorry, it has been awhile.   I just haven't felt like stitching much lately, and since my blog is about cross stitching there wasn't anything to blog about.  I'm slowly starting to stitch again.

Saturday night I finished stitching my Ribbon Candy Christmas ornmanent.  It should look nice on my Christmas tree when it is all assembled.  Here is a photo of my stitching and what it should look like when it is all assembled.  This can be found in the Cross Sitch and Needlework January 2014.

Last month my sister Pam & I made a birthday gift for our younger sister Denise.   Pam made a crochet Yorkshire Terrier and I used my DMC cross stitch floss to make the hair on the dog.

We wanted it to look like Denise's dog Orthos.
If you are interested in making your own here is the website Pam found the crochet pattern  http://crochetparfait.blogspot.ca/2013/02/amigurumi-yorkie-tutorial.html
