Spring Mouse in a House - update #2

I'm sorry it has been awhile since I blogged but it is hard to update my blog when I haven't been stitching much.  I finished the first wall of the Spring house (door side) on June 10.

I have been working on the second wall of the house.  This photo was taken on July 4th.

Spring Mouse in a House - restart

I wasn't happy with the one wall of the house after using the DMC Perle Cotton so I restarted the walls today.  The perle cotton was too thick as you can see in the first photo.

I back stitched all 4 walls of the Spring house.  Tomorrow I hope I have time to back stitch the floor (rug) and outside bottom.

Spring Mouse in a House

Sunday I started Just Nan's Spring Mouse in a House.   This photo shows the outline of one side of the house.  I didn't have enough of my DMC 210 embroidery floss, so I tried using some of the DMC 210 Peale Cotton floss.  Not sure if I like how thick the backstitching is.  I will stop by my LNS on the weekend and pick up some more of the 210 normal DMC floss because I'll need it anyways for the design.  I'll decide then if I want to keep this wall outline or start over.

Romeo Groom Mouse - update #1

Last weekend I stitched the white and finished the beige around the outside.  Tonight I did the ears (beige and pink parts) and started the black tuxedo.  I hope to have time this weekend to finish Romeo.

Romeo Groom Mouse

Tonight I started Just Nan's Romeo (Groom) mouse.  I'm stitching mine on 28ct Cashel Raw Natural.  This is not my favourite fabric because it is uneven like linen, I prefer 28ct evenweave.  I'm changing floss colours from greys to beiges because my fabric is beige not grey.

Let's Visit Canada

I don't remember the last time I spent hours doing nothing but cross stitching while watching movies on Netflix.  I worked on Let's Visit Canada by Imaginating.  This is my before photo taken on December 8, 2016.

Here is my progress from today/tonight.

I also did some shopping at my LNS (Stitcher's Place).  I bought 2 more Imaginating patterns.  Let's Do Coffee will be for my friend Lisa who loves her coffee. .

Let's Be Frozen will be for my Christmas/Winter decorating because my husband Dave loves snow globes.

I found a few patterns I would like to stitch in the new Stoney Creek magazine.

I love stitching gadgets so I bought this one.  Not sure when I will use it, but it looked neat!!

Goals for 2017

2016 Stitching Review
Last year started out ok, but I soon lost my stitching mojo and didn't get it back until the end of the year. My stitching and blogging suffered because of it.  I hope this year will be better.

Winding Bobbins

I started winding the DMC floss onto plastic bobbins.  These are the ones I got done today.

I had to stop until I find more plastic bobbins in my stash.  Hope to finish these tomorrow.

Christmas Cross Stitch Stash

The following cross stitch items I bought myself for Christmas.  There are a few patterns in the Stoney Creek Cross Stitch magazine that I want to stitch.

I added the Just Nan Gingerbread Santa Mouse kit to my collection.  In 2017, I hope to stitch all of my Just Nan Limited Edition Ornaments.  I have several mice kits (bride/groom/Santa/Witch/Witch Sister/Reindeer).

I went through all my DMC floss, these were the only colours missing from my stash.  I also bought extra black.

Happy New Year 2017!!

Well it is the first day of another new year.  Here are the two ornaments I made for my oldest and closest friends.  I stitched them both the same snowman, but used different floss colours for the snowballs, the scarf and the hanger for the tree.  The top one I gave to my friend Kim last week.

The bottom one is for my friend Lisa.  I will see her sometime this week.
