Just Nan SAL 2014 - February

I completed my Porch Garden Mice - Humbug. I got to try out my new Kreinik Corder and made my first cording. It is not perfect, but I'm happy with it. I used DMC variegated pink and blue floss for the cording.

2014 Smalls SAL - February update

This month I stitched on 3 small projects. I competed my Friendship exchange scissor case & fob. I wrapped it by using a heart shaped tin.

I finished cross stitching Porch Garden Mice, and even sewed it into a Humbug.

and stitched 2 more parts of my Garden Chair by Cat's Whisker's. The first photo is the front of the fob (cushion for the chair).

Back of the fob cushion. There is a spot to personalize with initials and the date completed. I'll stitch this at the end.

These are all the pieces needed. The first big shape is the back of the chair. You can also personalize this part. Not sure yet what I will put on the back. I just started stitching the drawer front.

If you are wondering, this is what the chair will look like when it is completed. Photo borrowed from The Cat's Whiskers Design Studios.

I finished all the cross stitching.

I even had time to finish it into the humbug, but I will wait until the smalls SAL & Just Nan check in later this week to show a photo.

Friendship exchange

Today was a great day. It was the Friendship Exchange at my LNS www.StitchersPlace.com (link is on the right side bar at the bottom because it is a store). This was the first exchange that Wilma did through her cross stitch store. There were 4 of us participating in the exchange. It was my first time, and it was a wonderful experience. I stitched a scissor case and fob (another first for me). I included a pair of scissors because I wasn't sure if she had a pair small enough to fit the case.

I got a pattern from Happy Stitching (http://www.xstitchhappy.com/2008/08/hummingbird-scissors-triangle-case.html). I used the flowers, but in my own colours. I also used the over one hummingbird pattern on the fob. The rest was my own idea (poem was from my garden chair).

Here is a photo showing all four stitched items. I stitched the scissor case and fob for Leigh. Leigh stitched the Friendship framed item for Wilma. Wilma stitched the Friends coaster for Heather. Heather stitched a Just Nan Minerva mouse for me.

I was thrilled to receive Minerva mouse. I have seen it on the web, but it was a limited edition several years ago before I discovered Just Nan so I couldn't buy the pattern. Thanks to Heather, I now have a Minerva mouse of my very own.

We had so much fun with this exchange all four of us (and 2 others) will be participating in the Canadian online Spring is Coming exchange in April. I have to find something new to stitch.

Porch Garden Mice update

I haven't stitch very much in the past week, I was just too tired or too busy in the evening to stitch. Didn't even have time this past weekend.

Tonight while watching the Olympics, I stitched the upside down flower pots.
Here is my progress on Porch Garden Mice - Humbug.

Theme-a-licious & YOTA

January Jardin ... I think I did very well. I worked on 3 projects that have something to do with gardens.

Garden Chair - I finished the front of the chair back.

Barnabee in Bloom - finish stitching my 3D bumble bee together.

Porch Garden Mice - Humbug

YOTA (Year of the Acronym) ... I failed. I didn't even touch my UFO (Plaid Trousers) in January.

Canadian Cross Stitchers exchange

Calling all Canadian online Cross Stitchers.

My LNS Stitcher's Place is having their first stitching exchange for online stitchers. Theme is "Spring is Coming!" You can find more details on her website http://www.stitchersplace.com and blog http://thestitchersplace.blogspot.ca

Both can be found in my blog list, but I have added the direct link to her website exchange page.

http://www.stitchersplace.com/cross-stitch-canadian-exchange-information.htm

Hope many of my fellow Canadian stitchers will participate. If this event is successful, Wilma will host more exchanges in the future to include stitchers from outside Canada.
