Miss Witchy and her Sister - Happy Dance

Last night, I finally completed the two witch mice.  I will cut the whiskers to the right size after they are assembled.

Miss Witchy and her Sister

I decided to take a little break from my large Animal Crossing project and stitch some mice.  Wednesday night, I started 2 mice because they use most of the same colours.  I am stitching them on 28ct Jobelan light gray.

Here is my progress after 2 nights.

and Miss Witchy’s Sister Mouse.

Here is my progress after 2 nights.  As you can see I focused mostly on the first mouse.

Miss Ghostly Pumpkin Mouse - Happy Dance

I just finished the Autumn Mouse.  I’ll try to assemble the mouse sometime this week.

Miss Ghostly Pumpkin Mouse - update #2

I stitched some more on the Autumn Mouse.  I ran out of DMC 740 on my bobbin, I need to check and see if I have a backup one.  If not, I will need to pick up some this week.

Miss Ghostly Pumpkin Mouse

I have a week in between projects so I think I will start another one of the just Nan mice.  This one is from the Haunted Autumn Mouse in a House, but I’m only stitching the mouse.  Here name is Miss Ghostly Pumpkin Mouse.

I will be stitching her on 28ct Lugana called Fizzle from Picture This Plus.

Here are the threads and fabric I will be using.  You can see a small photo at the bottom of the mouse.

FFG - March

Thanks again to Rachel at Ten Hour Stitcher for encouraging us to finish some projects.  I was going to blog about my Quidditch progress and saw Rachel’s blog and felt guilty because I procrastinated all month and didn’t get around to fully finishing anything until this morning.  Thanks Rachel, it’s all your fault.  :)

First up I used a black 5 X 7 frame for the Lesley Teare SAL I did last year.  I couldn’t use the glass because of the beads in the project.  Next time I’m ironing something I can take this out and iron it as well.

The second framed project is by Sue Hillis called Yes, I Can Drive A Stick.  I don’t usually stitch Halloween pictures, but this one I had to do because I actually prefer to drive standard transmission (cars with a stick).  So this project is perfect for me, and I stitched it on purple.  The frame is a little banged up, but I reused it from our house.

The last framed picture is called Blackwork Dragon by Dragon Dreams.  I stitched this way back in 2004.  I believe the model was stitched in one colour, but I thought it would be fun to mix it up.

Finally the one everyone is waiting to see ... Miss Strawberry Mouse.  Remember this is what she looked like before.  I love the pink on pink fabric.

I had to take her outside for a photo because it is a cloudy, rainy day here.  Every room is dark, I was getting shadows.  I assembled her today.  I love how she turned out.  I like the new tails on the mice for the seasonal houses.  It is a wire corded tail instead of the metal shaped tails.  It is hard to see the pink on pink fabric in the photos, but you can see it in real life.

Smalls SAL - February

Here she is Miss Strawberry Mouse from the Summer Mouse in a House series.  The pattern called for white whiskers, but I have made black ones for all the other mice I stitched.  I will have her assembled in time for the FFG on March 10.

Miss Strawberry Mouse

She is almost finished.  I still need to add her whiskers, I’m getting tired, so I’ll do them in the morning.  I thought you might like a sneak peak of the strawberries.  See you tomorrow for the Smalls SAL.

Just Nan ... Summer - Miss Strawberry Mouse

I started a new project for the Smalls SAL which will be this Friday.

Here are the DMC thread colours recommended in the chart.  I’m using a 28ct pink on pink mystery evenweave.  I’m thinking it might be from Picture this Plus.  I bought it years ago from my LNS at the time.  She was always selling small remnants which are great for doing my Just Nan projects.

Sunday nights progress.
Monday nights progress.

Smalls SAL - January

I’d like to thank Mary for hosting this event each month.  If you’d like to join, you can find all the information about this SAL at Mary’s Thread.

I am slowing working through my Just Nan Limited Edition 3D Miniature mice.  I decided to stitch the Frosty Winter Mouse because it is still winter.  This was sold as a kit (Frosty Winter Mouse in a House).  It takes too long to stitch the houses, so for now I will just stitch the mice in the series.  Some day I might go back and stitch the houses to go with them.

Tuesday night (Jan. 28), I started stitching.  Here is my progress after the first night.
Wednesday night, I finished all the cross stitching.  Here is my progress after the second night.

Thursday night, I finished adding the beads (silver crystal and white pearl).  Another Happy Dance!!  This is my 4th finish of the year already.

I hope to have the mouse assembled for the next Fully Finished Gallery SAL (Feb. 10).

After completing the beads on Frosty, I still had some time to work on SYOA (Harry Potter) Hufflepuff banner/house crest.  I finished the white and black on the badger, but instead of finishing the letter H, I started the vertical trim on the right edge of the banner.  Next time I will try to finish the dark colour (DMC 3371) at the bottom of the badger’s neck and the letter H.

Rosebud Tweet - Happy Dance

I finished it early this morning around 3:00am.  I even spent time assembling it today, but will wait to share a photo at the next FFG (Feb 10).

Rosebud Tweet - update #1

I have never had so many frogs visiting for one small project.  This was supposed to be an easy stitch, since it is only 30 stitches wide x 30 stitches high per side.  Last night, I did the first side white outer stitches with no problem, just stitched it a little closer to the edge of the fabric.  I always try to use small pieces, but this one was really narrow.  When I stitched the other side I tried to move it over a little bit ... well that is when the frogs decided to visit.  I think I have restitched the second side twice when it didn’t match up when I got to the end.  So I kept taking the stitches out until I thought it was correct and went to bed.  But today, when I added the light green floss I realized it was still wrong.  I restitched, but then the light green was off by one stitch.  I’m still hoping for a finish this week, but you never know.  I really need to get rid of the frogs.

Rosebud Tweet - a new start

I was out for supper tonight with some old co-workers.  We haven’t seen each other for a year.  We all worked together in 2017 & 2018.  It was nice to catchup.

I am still waiting for my fabric to arrive so I can start the Stitch Your Own Adventure - Letters from Hogwarts.  In the meantime, I have decided to work on one of my many Just Nan Limited Edition Kits.  Tonight I have chosen Rosebud Tweet.  I am stitching it on 28ct white evenweave.  Not sure which brand.  I’m using the DMC floss recommended in the pattern.

Spring Mouse in a House - Happy Dance!!

Last night I got this much done.  I did most of the backstitching and added the mouses whiskers.

Tonight I finished the rest of the backstitching and then added the beads.

Spring Mouse in a House - update #15

I had to frog the green along the bottom of Spring Mouse before I could continue stitching.  I mixed up the 2 green colours for the grass.  I had the dark green on top and that is supposed to be on the bottom so it looks like shadows.  I still managed to get a lot stitched.

Before frogging the green.

After frogging and stitching for a few hours.

Spring Mouse in a House - update #14 - Rug Happy Dance!!

Last night I finished the rug that is the inside floor of the Spring Mouse in a House..

Here are the walls for the house.  This is the front wall with the door.

Here is one of the side walls.

Here is the back wall.

Here is the other side wall.
Here is what this project will look like when it is completed (image borrowed from Just Nan’s website).

After finishing the rug, I started stitching the Spring Mouse herself.  I’ll continue working on her tonight.

Spring Mouse in a House - update #11

It has been almost a year since I worked on this project.  Here is a photo from January 14, 2019.

Here is what I got done last night.  I added the last corner of light green and then added the pink and black parts to the inside rug for the house.
