V is for Visiting the Neighbours

I borrowed the patterns (x3) from my friend.  She had them in Cross Stitch & Country Crafts magazines, but you also get them in a Better Homes and Gardens 101 Best Loved Design from Cross Stitch and Country Crafts.  I stitched all three parts as one full scene called Amid Amish Life.

The first part is called Hanging the Quilts.

The second part is called Visiting Neighbours.  Here is a photo of the first and second together.

The third part is called Tending the Gardens.  Here are all 3 parts stitched together.

  1. That is fabulous. How long did it take you to stitch it up?

    1. Thank you for the lovely comment. It took me longer than I wanted it to ... 5 years in total, but that is because I am a one-at-a-time stitcher I thought of each part as a separate project. I stitched one part and then stopped in between to do several others until it was finished 5 years later.

  2. Beautiful! I stitched this years ago when it first came out, in the 80's I think. It was one of my favorite things to stitch, and it still hangs over the fireplace in my country kitchen!
