Stash Shopping

I ordered the new Just Nan's Spring Mouse in a House and Rosebud Tweet from my LNS (Stitcher's Place).

While I was there on Saturday I found some great deals on 28ct Lugana (2 different shades of brown) and linen (blue whisper) remnants and a full piece of 28ct Jobelan Christmas Red.

I also bought a new Imaginating pattern called Let's Retire.

Another pot holder but it is a lemon pattern and 5 DMC Perle Cotton.

Let's Visit Canada

I don't remember the last time I spent hours doing nothing but cross stitching while watching movies on Netflix.  I worked on Let's Visit Canada by Imaginating.  This is my before photo taken on December 8, 2016.

Here is my progress from today/tonight.

I also did some shopping at my LNS (Stitcher's Place).  I bought 2 more Imaginating patterns.  Let's Do Coffee will be for my friend Lisa who loves her coffee. .

Let's Be Frozen will be for my Christmas/Winter decorating because my husband Dave loves snow globes.

I found a few patterns I would like to stitch in the new Stoney Creek magazine.

I love stitching gadgets so I bought this one.  Not sure when I will use it, but it looked neat!!

Christmas Cross Stitch Stash

The following cross stitch items I bought myself for Christmas.  There are a few patterns in the Stoney Creek Cross Stitch magazine that I want to stitch.

I added the Just Nan Gingerbread Santa Mouse kit to my collection.  In 2017, I hope to stitch all of my Just Nan Limited Edition Ornaments.  I have several mice kits (bride/groom/Santa/Witch/Witch Sister/Reindeer).

I went through all my DMC floss, these were the only colours missing from my stash.  I also bought extra black.

SFS January 2015

This is the first time I will be participating in Stitch from Stash.  It is broken into 2 groups this year.  I have joined from January to June 2015.  This might prove to be a challenge because I'm used to spending whatever I want to on my cross stitch hobby.  For more information click icon on the left side bar.

Month - January
Spent - $14.95 (2 magazines, fabric, DMC Floss)

+ $22.85 for 2 books

My LNS (Stitcher's Place) is selling some books/magazines and charts from one of our regular stitching club member who had to downsize last year.  I am helping a friend by buying some of her gently read magazines and soft cover books.  I can never have enough cross stitch books/magazines in my own collection.  I love looking through them for inspiration.

Earned - nothing, no finishes yet this month.
Carry Over - $2.42 left from my gift certificate + $10.05 left from January = $12.47 total to be used for another month.

Christmas is coming way too fast

I worked on my Christmas Exchange project (no photos until Dec 16th).  Even though it has been cold, and we had some snow, I am still finding it hard to get into the Christmas spirit.  Dave & I have done 60-70% of the gift shopping. It is hard to believe in exactly one month it will be Christmas Eve.  Stitching wise I'm not ready.  I will leave you with a few Christmas items I have bought this year.  This is my new holiday mug for work.

And this adorable snowman tin can from the Dollar Store.

Christmas Shopping

Dave & I had the day off today.  I had a doctor's appointment first thing in the morning, and then we went Christmas shopping.   We stopped for lunch at East Side Mario's.  In the afternoon we did some more Christmas Shopping and groceries at Costco.   We were expecting 5-10 more cm of snow tonight so we stayed home.   I wrapped everything that we bought so far.  Still have some clothes to buy, and stocking stuffers.  Here is a photo of my Christmas wrapping paper.   I love these double sided rolls, last year I bought the one on the right (Silver with blue and white snowflakes / blue with white dots).  I loved it so much that I bought another roll this year.  Jordyn's gifts are the red paper, his girlfriend Sarah is the reverse light blue with white snowflakes, Jaspar has the dark blue with white dots, and Dave & I will share the same paper Silver with snowflakes.  My sons love that they can see their presents right away by colour.  I have done this since they were teens.

Just Nan and Lynne Nicoletti stash

I stopped by my LNS today to pick up a pre-order of Just Nan's 2012 Gingerbread Mouse (reprint).

As I was leaving Wilma showed me a Christmas Envelope by Lynne Nicoletti. I was in a hurry to pick up my son so I asked her to put it aside and I will buy it on Tuesday night (Stitcher's Club). I will post a photo next week.

Twinkle and coffee?

I went shopping last Tuesday night at my LNS (Stitcher's Place) the Carrie's Creations Twinkle floss arrived. I guess I have no more excuses, I need to get Plaid Trousers finished. I bought 2 skeins just in case, don't want to run out again.

I also received my special order 28ct Coffee Lugana (evenweave) and Santa's Stockings for my Santa's Village. I want to start this project after Plaid Trousers, hopefully at the beginning of May (remember I'm a One At A Time Stitcher so too many projects make me stressed).

I did start a small project to take back and forth to the Stitcher's Club. I am designing a Needlebook cover that I'm stitching in purple (my favourite colour). I will design each page as I go.

I haven't had time to stitch at all this weekend. We spent all day Saturday and this morning putting in the Dri-Core (subfloor) in our basement renovation. The only room left to do is the laundry room. That will be another weekend. It is hard to take out the washer and dryer when I'm doing laundry.
Time to make a cup of tea and sit and stitch.

Christmas shopping

I did not do any stitching tonight, so I will share another shopping photo. I love this blue evenweave, I don't have a project in mind at the moment. I bought the fabric and a magazine to put in my Christmas stocking. Since i don't need The other fabric and floss that I purchased last week they will also go away until Christmas.

No stitching ... buying fabric

I am luck to have an LNS close to home. We meet every Tuesday night at Stitcher's Place (www.stitchersplace.com) for Stitcher's Club. I didn't feel like stitching this week, instead I went shopping for fabric & floss for next years projects.
I already had the pattern and light blue fabric for When I am an Old Man I Shall Wear Plaid Trousers. I found a beautiful blue hand dyed floss that I wanted to try. I always use DMC.

Then I started looking for purple fabric and found a gorgeous purple hand dyed floss to try. Since these will be companion pieces on the wall. I can't wait to stitch this project. Purple is my favourite colour!
