Happy Dance

I finished the Namaste by Ink Circles on Saturday. Not sure if I will frame it or make it into a bell pull. I think I will start kitting all my projects for 2013.

My BAP Happy Dance

I finished my BAP Victorian Dollhouse by Joan Elliott. Here is a photo of it completely finished.









I have decided to work on something a little smaller for my next project. I'd like to see another finish before the end of the year. I have started pulling threads (DMC) and fabric (28ct light blue evenweave) for Ink Circles Namaste.

IHSW update

Lots of stitching time this weekend. I finished the Master Bedroom and then worked on the attic bedroom. The floor was already done, I stitched the green walls, some of the bed, and the doorway. Here is a progress photo. I should be able to complete the whole Victorian Dollhouse by the end of October.

IHSW

It is finally here, IHSW (International Hermit Stitching Weekend). Here is my before photo. The Master Bedroom is almost finished. A few more items to stitch and back stitch (picture frame and pink chair). I will definitely complete this room by the end of the weekend. Let's see how much I will get done in the attic bed room.




When I see that I'm getting close to a finish (like now), I start deciding what to stitch next. I have 4 projects that I want to do next year.
1 - Garden Chair by Cat's Whiskers. I fell in love with the design because I studied Interior Design and I used to build dollhouses/miniatures as a hobby.




2 - Namaste by Ink Circles. I love the vibrant colours of the rainbow.




3 - I Shall Wear Purple by Sue Hillis. This is for me, my favourite colour is purple.




4 - I Shall Wear Plaid by Stitch World. My husband turns 50 on March 24th, and it is the companion piece to mine.




These are decisions that I like to make, they don't affect anyone else but me. Which one should I start next? I will only stitch one at a time. The exception might be to have a large project at home and a small one to take to the cross stitch club on Tuesday nights.

Hallway & Master Bedroom update

I did finish the hallway and about half finished in the Master bedroom. I'd like to finish it this weekend, but don't think I'll have enough time between laundry, ironing, and other chores.

October Goals

I finished the nursery and the grey foundation. I started the hallway, Master bedroom, and large attic room floors all in September.

I am almost finished the hallway. Hope to complete it today. I'd like to have the Master bedroom done by the end of October.

TUSAL and IHSW

I know I'm a few days late with my updates for TUSAL and IHSW. Here is my TUSAL update for this month.




I spent the weekend stitching the foundation, until I ran out of DMC 318 gray. I will pick up some tonight at the Cross Stitch Club.




After running out of floss, I continued on the left side of the roof.




Hope everyone else had a productive Stitching weekend. My goal for the rest of September is to finish the roof and foundation.

Another room completed!!

Another happy dance, I have completed the small attic room on the left side of the dollhouse.

Here is a photo showing the whole project. As you can see I only have 4 more rooms to go ... Nursery, hallway, master bedroom, and large attic room (guest bedroom), the left roof and the foundation.



I have signed up for IHSW. Have you? If not, it's not too late, it is this weekend. I will try to finish the roof shingles.

Another happy dance!!

I have finished another room in my dollhouse. The attic room on the right side is complete. I'm working on the gingerbread, white shell/shape of the rooms, and the shingles on the right side before I start to fill in the left side attic room. Here are some progress photos for you to enjoy.

Holidays and a few more happy dances!!

Dave & I have 2 weeks holidays (we are on the 2nd week).  We are still renovating the basement.  Last week was the laundry room, we took the washer and dryer out for the week.  We finished the laundry room renovation.
We will have some relaxing time ... Time to stitch, watch movies, sit in the hot tub, and take long walks.
I have managed to stitch a lot on my Victorian Dollhouse.  I finally finished the bay window on the left exterior of the house.  I started this in January, but at the time I didn't know what colours I was going to substitute for the outside trim.  I also finished the foyer and front porch then started and finished the bathroom.  I hope to finish the right side of the roof. I think I'm going to continue with the roof and then do the white shell walls in between each room to give them their shape.

TUSAL, IHSW and a Happy Dance!!

A small Happy Dance.  I finally finished the living room of my Victorian Dollhouse.

This past weekend was IHSW.  I didn't sign up because I didn't expect to have any time to stitch.  But I managed to find some, so here is my progress.

We are already more than half way through the year.  We'll see if I can finish this project by the end of the year.   That was the goal when I started on January 1st.

June update

My husband decided it would be a great weekend to drywall the ceiling of our basement. We are still in the middle of renovations.

I signed up for IHSW, and had every intention of participating this past weekend, but with the drywalling, grocery shopping and laundry there was no extra time for cross stitching.

 I do have a happy dance from a few weeks ago. June 8th, I finally finished the Stitcher's Days of Christmas.

Now that I have finished my other cross stitch projects, I'm back to being a "One at a time stitcher".  No more "rotational" stitching for me.  I don't enjoy stitching on more than one project, I find it too stressful.

April update

Hello? I can't seem to find time to update my blog.  I stitch most weeks, just never update.  I hate blogging without photos.  This weekend is IHSW!!  If you are one of the few who don't know what it is, please go over to http://joysze.blogspot.ca/2012/04/ihsw-april-2012.html and see what all the excitement is about.  I have already joined for April. 

I really miss working on "One project at a time".  I hate the rotational method, it is definitely not for me.  After I finish these two projects (hopefully by the end of June), I can focus on my Victorian Dollhouse.

Here is an updated photo of Happy Stitching. I have completed alot since last month.  The green and white border is almost finished.  Just the white bit at the bottom.

I also started working on the center panels.  The bottom ones are complete. This has become my main focus.  It is a challenge because I usually stitch over 2 on 28ct, but this is 32ct.  I have to use a magnifier.  So it is a little slower to stitch.

Here is my update on The Stitcher's Days of Christmas.  I have finished day four, and almost all of day three.  Just the wreath at the bottom of the scroll frame.  Day two is a problem.  I don't like the 2 Sewing birds, so when I have time, I will look through my books/magazines for something else to swap in it's place.   That's why I'm not in a hurry to finish day three.

As for renovation news, the insulation is all done.  We got the inspection for plumbing & insulation, so next step is the drywall.

Stitching update

This has been a crazy month.  I have had to deal with failed car emissions and retesting before getting  my car stickers. We are also in the middle of our basement renovation.  Every weekend we have been busy moving furniture out of the basement to make room for the electrician, plumber, or inspector.

I had to move all my cross stitching stuff out of the way.  I haven't had much time to stitch, but when I do, I feel like working on Happy Stitching.  Here is a progress photo from Sunday afternoon. 

This is Stitcher's Days of Christmas.  I have finished day four, and started day three.

A little more completed in the living room.  I love this project, but seem to pull more stitches out than I put in.  That's why I haven't got as much done as I'd like to.  I like the white walls between each room, but I'm not sure about the white lattice at the bottom of the house.  I don't like the black outline.  Still trying to decide if I'm keeping it white or if I should change it.

March?!?!

I cannot believe it is March 1st. I have been plugging away on my WIPS. I managed to work on Happy Stitching and Stitcher's Days of Christmas during February. Here are some photos showing my progress.

Stitching goals for March ...

• finish the Living Room in the Victorian Dollhouse
• finish the 4th day of Christmas, and start the 3rd day 
• finish the green & white border on Happy Stitching

IHSW

Another IHSW is almost over.  This is the before photo of Xmas Stitching Days.  I only found time to stitch on Sunday and Monday.

I haven't decided if I'm going to add Nine buttons or stitch them like the chart shows. That's why they are not done yet.

Victorian Dollhouse hasn't seen the light of day for a few weeks. I'm finding it hard to rotate my projects. I wasn't seeing any progress on the Christmas Stitching Days because I was only stitching on it Tuesday nights at the Cross Stitcher's Club. Now that it is more than 1/4 of the way finished I will focus again on the dollhouse.

There were frogs living in my dollhouse.  I had to rip out all the pink walls of the living room.  The counting was off by one row.  I should learn to check more often, not wait until two sides of the project doesn't match up.  By then it is always too late.  I will continue to stitch tonight on Victorian Dollhouse, but here is an update on my progress so far.

Tuesday I will pick up Stitcher's Days of Christmas for a few days. I've always been a one at a time stitcher.  I'm not enjoying the rotational method, I'm finding it hard to concentrating on more than one project at a time.  I don't feel like working on my 3rd project Happy Stitching.

This is after from IHSW.  I didn't get as much time as I had wanted to, but I did manage to finish a room.  The kitchen is the first room complete.  Next weekend I will work on the livingroom (pink room on the right side).   Pink walls are already finished.
