Happy Canada Day!!

I'd like to wish a Happy Canada Day to all of my fellow Canadians all over the world!!

Here are some photos from my Animal Crossing New Horizons video game.

I have created a red & white rose flower bed in the shape of a Canada Flag.

This is another red & white flower bed.  These flowers are called windflowers.
I also made some other red & white flower beds.  I used the Moai statue I received as a gift.

Here are 2 small hyacinth flower beds.

Here is my only Canadian themed cross stitch.  It is called Oh Canada! by Imaginating.  I originally wanted to sew it into a Canadian Flag, but decided to just frame it.

Cherries

I think it is time to pick cherries from our tree.  We planted this tree around 20 years ago.  The first time it gave cherries it was every other year.  Then when it was mature we now get them every year.  We have enough for Dave & I, our friends and neighbours and and half the tree for the birds, squirrels, rabbits, raccoons and skunks to enjoy as well.  Unfortunately, my family now have their own cherry trees, so I can't share anymore.

The first 4 photos are taken from above looking out my craft room window.

The next 3 photos are taken from the ground at eye level.  You can see how full the branches are.

This photo is showing a cluster of cherries on one branch.
Here is a small bowl of cherries picked from the branch shown above.

SYOA - touch ups

I was double checking my SYOA project to make sure I’m all caught up before Chapter 4 is released on Wednesday, July 1.

I finally got around to adding the numbers 5972 to the Hogwarts Express.

I also noticed I was missing the bottom 3 rows of cream & beige stitches on the edge of the parchment in Chapter 2.

Miss Ghostly Pumpkin Mouse - update #2

I stitched some more on the Autumn Mouse.  I ran out of DMC 740 on my bobbin, I need to check and see if I have a backup one.  If not, I will need to pick up some this week.

Miss Ghostly Pumpkin Mouse

I have a week in between projects so I think I will start another one of the just Nan mice.  This one is from the Haunted Autumn Mouse in a House, but I’m only stitching the mouse.  Here name is Miss Ghostly Pumpkin Mouse.

I will be stitching her on 28ct Lugana called Fizzle from Picture This Plus.

Here are the threads and fabric I will be using.  You can see a small photo at the bottom of the mouse.

Peppermint Purple (Green) - week 26

I was on the Peppermint Purple Facebook page getting the pattern today for week 26.  People were commenting that this is the halfway mark in the pattern, which means half the year has flown by already.

I’m enjoying working with this green monochromatic colour scheme.

Cards - Happy Father's Day & Pink Birthday

Happy Father's Day to all of the Dad's out there.  Here is the quick card I made for my Dad.  I used some card stock/embossed card stock and printed the Happy Father's Day sign onto white card stock and coloured with Prismacolor pencil crayons. I'm hoping to go visit him today.

It is also my niece Katie's 25th birthday today.  I made her card the same time I made Sarah's because they are both the same age and all I had to do was change the colours.  Sarah likes blue, but Katie loves pink.  the cards are a little different because I just placed the numbers randomly on the card except the 2 and the 5.  I love this card idea because it is so simple, but looks interesting.

Animal Crossing New Horizon

I have played my video game Animal Crossing New Horizons most of the day and again tonight.  I thought I’d introduce you to my character/profile.  I have been playing the Animal Crossing series since 2001.  I chose Jade as my character’s name.  I don’t remember why I chose it, but I love the name.  So of course Jade needed to live somewhere that was related to her name.  All the previous games all revolved around a town so my town was named Jewelvil/Jewelville depending on how many letters you were allowed in the name.  This game revolves around an island, so I new it had to be Jewel in the title. I thought about names like Beach, Bay, Cove, for the ending.  We were told you could use 10 characters in the name so I thought great I can use Jewel Beach.  Of course I forgot that I needed a space in between each word, so at the last minute it was changed to become JewelBeaach.

Here are some photos of my character Jade standing outside my house.
Here is a close up of Jade.  I’m wearing my Hawaiian shirt.

Here is a photo of my Nintendo Switch (Animal Crossing Special Edition).  I can play it as a handheld device or hook it up to a TV and play on the big screen.  I prefer playing on the TV, but tonight I’m playing while Dave is watch music videos on YouTube.
Here is a photo of my island map.  We can have up to 10 villagers living on the island with me.  I have 9 right now because 1 of them moved today.

Peppermint Purple (Green) - week 21

Tonight I did some stitching on Peppermint Purple SAL.  I stitched the block for week 21.  I noticed that the border is off by one stitch on this row and the one below.  I adjusted the block before this one (week 20) and thought it was only that one, but no it is all the rest of the borders that I stitched.  I guess I have some frogging to do.

Here is the whole project.  If I were to ever stitch this project again, I would use a darker thread for inside the blocks.  I find the lighter green looks lost.  I have seen some on Facebook that have used 2 colours in each block to show more detail in the blackwork.  For example block 2, they stitched the lines inside the weave and the “x” inside the boxes with a different colour than the border on each weave.  I’m tempted to frog and restart, but I already did that enough at the beginning and I don’t want to waste time or floss.  :)

2000 piece Jigsaw Puzzle

I started this puzzle over a week ago.  Finished the border that same day, but Dave & I haven’t had time or didn’t feel like working on it yet.  We are usually spending time in the garden planting or weeding, now that it is summer weather.  The pieces are larger than usual and it has lots of colours, so it should be easy to do once we start.  I like that it comes with a poster.

Designing my own cross stitch patterns

I designed the Monster Book of Monsters and the Time Turner charts to use in Chapter 3 of Stitch Your Own Adventure (SYOA) Letters From Hogwarts.
I spent most of the day finalizing my patterns in Pattern Maker by HobbyWare.
Then screen captured image and saved as a jpeg which I inserted into a Word document.  Added some stitching instructions.
Then I saved the Word document into a pdf form.
Finally was able to upload pdf file onto the Facebook Group for everyone to enjoy.

What a pain in the neck, but I learned some stuff and everyone in the group is happy.

I wasted cross stitch and video game time. :(

Here is the Monster Book of Monsters chart. If you want a copy of the pdf (with floss colours) leave me a comment and I can email it to you.

Here is the Time Turner chart. Leave comment if you want pdf of the chart.
